Cherokee County School Board Receives Excellent Report From Cenergistic Energy Program

During Tuesday’s meeting of the Cherokee County Board of Education the board received an update from Rusty Jacoway on the most recent figures from the Cenergistic Energy Savings Program that was implemented in 2014.

To date, Jacoway says the system as a whole has greatly reduced its energy usage resulting is huge savings for each school.

In other business the board approved the adoption of a resolution authorizing the execution and delivery of financing documents for school busses and approved a contract for policy review and analysis with the Alabama Association of School Boards.

The board also approved a contract for lawn care at the old Centre Middle School with Picture Perfect Lawn Care in the amount of $4,500 which was the low bid.

The board also approved a service agreement with Milestones Behavior Group, Inc. for professional guidance and advice regarding behavior analytic services and also granted approval for Sand Rock School to finance a John Deere Mower with Ag-Pro.

The next meeting of the Cherokee County Board of Education will be a Work Session Thursday at 5:00 p.m. in the meeting room at the Cherokee County Career & Tech Center.

The board will be meeting with two teachers from each school in addition to Principals and Guidance Counselors to discuss Block Scheduling and the possibility of a seven period day.
