The Centre City Council approved the formation of a new tourism committee during their Tuesday night meeting.
Councilman Marc Johnson proposed the formation of the SPARK Committee, which would be made up of individuals who he says have a well-diversified background with extensive networking capabilities.
The all-volunteer committee would meet once a month and discuss possibilities for new recreational development and creating new streams of revenue for Centre.
The council is expected to discuss during a May 14th Work Session the names of members who could serve on the committee.
In other action Tuesday night, the council voted to table the list of road paving projects for 2013 so that members could travel to the sights to look at them.
