CLASS 3A GIRLS NORTHEAST SUB-REGIONAL: Sand Rock’s Season Ends At Pisgah

PISGAH – Madison McCullough managed 18 points and Kirby Deboard added 10 points and nine rebounds, but they weren’t enough to lead Class 3A, No. 7 Sand Rock past third-ranked Pisgah. The Lady Wildcats’ basketball season ended with a 65-49 setback in Northeast Sub-Regional action on Monday evening.

Pisgah (28-1) advances to the Northeast Regional Tournament at Jacksonville State University’s Pete Mathews Coliseum on Saturday. The Lady Eagles will take on sixth-ranked Pleasant Valley at 9 a.m.

Sand Rock’s season ends at 21-10.

Morgan Bone contributed seven points and 17 rebounds for the Lady Wildcats, Katelyn Hanson finished with five points and three assists.

Pisgah led throughout the game. The Lady Eagles held a 22-13 advantage at the end of the first quarter and led 30-21 at halftime. Pisgah built a 45-32 advantage at the end of the third quarter.

Annie Hughes led the Lady Eagles with 25 points. Emily White added 21 points. Presley Johnson sank a pair of treys and finished with 15 points.
