Collinsville Man Arrested in Georgia on Outstanding Warrant and Drug Charges

A Collinsville man was arrested in front of a convenience store in Chattooga County Georgia earlier in the week after allegedly “causing a disturbance”.

The clerk at Victory Fuels in Trion contacted the sheriff’s office, and when deputies arrived, they found Johnny Craig Patton sitting in his vehicle.  They soon discovered that Patton had an outstanding warrant out of Jones County, Georgia.

After receiving consent to search the vehicle, deputies reportedly found a crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine.  By way of explanation Patton told the officers that in the past he had been a drug addict but didn’t use anymore – however he had loaned the vehicle to someone, so the drugs weren’t his.

The deputies arrested Patton on the outstanding warrant and on drug possession charges – he was then transported to the Chattooga County Jail.
