Collinsville Woman Arrested on Drug Charges at Traveler’s Inn

A Collinsville woman was arrested at the Traveler’s Inn earlier this week after police found drugs in her room – that, according to information in a news release from Collinsville Police Chief Gary Bowen.  Officers were called to the location by management in regard to a “welfare check” when the tenant failed to come to the door following repeated attempts to get her to answer.  Upon arrival Chief Bowen also knocked on the door and received no response; at that point, he was given a key, and when he entered the room came into contact with the woman that the room was registered to – Kayttiee Wright.  Wright told him that she’d been sleeping and didn’t hear anyone at the door.

Bowen reportedly noticed a half-smoked marijuana cigarette on the night stand, then asked if there was anything else in the room with Wright stating that was a bag in the drawer of the night stand.  According to the news release, Bowen retrieved the bag and inside found a number of pre-packaged baggies containing methamphetamine, marijuana and spice. There was also a bag that contained a large amount of spice.

Wright was then placed under arrest and transported to the Collinsville City Jail, where the contents of that bag were processed by Officer Scott Green, and warrants were obtained for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Wright was then booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center on those charges, where she is being held on bonds totaling $28,500.
