Commissioner Marcie Foster Purchases New Tasers For Sheriff’s Department

Cherokee County Commissioner Marcie Foster has purchased several new tasers for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s.

According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Officer Steve Street, a Taser instructor with the Sheriff’s Office, procured the new Tasers, which are equipped with video cameras to record all deployments of the device.

The number of injuries to officers and suspects has been greatly reduced with the use of these non-lethal devices.

Sheriff Shaver said that truly he appreciates Commissioner Foster’s support for his department and the community.
