Commissioner Marcie Foster Responds to Complaints Regarding Construction Work

Cherokee County Commission 011New paving projects are in the works for portions of Cherokee County.

Following the most recent meeting of the Cherokee County Commission, we spoke with County Engineer Corey Chambers about those projects:

Roadwork 1While having better roads is something everyone enjoys, and benefits from, many people are not looking forward to another round of dealing with all the headaches associated with construction work in the county – especially in light of the recent issues with wait times, both in Leesburg and in Cedar Bluff.

Commissioner Marcie Foster:

During the most recent road construction projects undertaken locally by McCartney WEIS Radio received numerous complaints regarding wait times – ranging anywhere from several minutes to 30 minutes, 40 minutes – even up to an hour.

When the next round of projects gets underway WEIS Radio will keep listeners up-to-date on the locations where crews will be working and how the overall traffic flow seems to be affected.
