Construction Worker Dies in Fall at Mohawk in Summerville – UPDATED

Mohawk Plant - SummervilleA 23 year old construction worker died in a fall Wednesday (June 5th) – while working in one of the building’s owned by Mohawk in Summerville.

According to the Summerville News, the unidentified worker fell about 40 feet, with the accident taking place around 1:30 in the afternoon.

The incident took place inside the new building recently erected in front of the Mohawk property near Highway 100.

Little information has been released and authorities have also chosen not to indicate which of the three construction companies working on the project, that the victim was actually employed by.

UPDATE

The construction worker that died in a fall at the Summerville Mohawk plant on Wednesday, has been identified as 22 year old Huriel Gervacio Zamudio of Rockmart, Georgia.

Officials say that he fell approximately 40 feet inside the new building, being erected the front of Mohawk and adjacent to Highway 100.

According to the Summerville News several companies are working on that project, however the company the victim was working for has not been disclosed.
