Dekalb Authorities Make Second Large Marijuana Bust In 24 Hours

Sheriff Jimmy Harris reports the arrest of two individuals after Drug Task Force agents executed a search warrant on Alabama Highway 68 on Lookout Mountain.

Agents from the DeKalb County Drug Task Force, Fort Payne Police Department, and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office participated in this case.

During the execution of the search warrant officers discovered 5.1 pounds of Marijuana compressed into bricks, 2 pistols, 4 long guns and a assortment of drug paraphernalia.

Drug agents also seized a 2004 Nissan Maxima and $400.00 cash during the arrest.

Arrested at the scene were Ruben Alevedo Rodrigeus, 28 of Collinsville and Preston Harold Evans Jr., 47 of Sand Rock. Both were charged with Trafficking Marijuana and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center where they await bond.

More arrests are expected in this case.

This is the second large seizure of Marijuana in the last 24 hours.
