A 20 year old DeKalb County woman was placed under arrest Friday, December 27th after being indicted on charges of aggravated child abuse.
According to WAFF TV48 – DeKalb County Investigators stated that Sabrina Nicole Sprayberry drove the child, then under a year of age, to a Marshall County hospital back in August, and from there, the child was transported to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham to undergo surgery.
The child was found to be suffering from bleeding on the brain.
DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said the child continues to recover – however, it’s too early to tell if there will be any permanent damage.
Sprayberry has been released after meeting a $25,000 bond.
