Donations Still Being Taken for Children in Need this Christmas; Donate a Toy Today

toy-drive-1

Christmas is just around the corner and Cherokee County Firefighters, along with Cherokee County Rescue Squad members are calling on you to lend a helping hand to local children in need through the gift of giving this holiday season.

New unwrapped toys may be dropped off at Walmart in Centre; Fred’s; local Dollar General Stores; Brad’s One Stop at Watson’s Crossroads; the Rock at Sand Rock; at Fire Hall’s and at Town Hall locations across the county.

The Christmas for Children in Cherokee County program, helps those families not receiving assistance from another program.  They focus on providing assistance to the families of the working poor, adult children with intellectual disabilities and grandparents that are raising children.

Appointments will be required to evaluate eligibility prior to toy distribution and take note: time is running out!  Applications will be accepted through this Saturday, December 10th.

For additional information contact Judy Greenwood at (256) 557-8230; John Greenwood at (256) 557-8228 or Glenda Horger at (256) 238-3756.

Toy collection will continue for several more days; please take the time to make a donation, and brighten a child’s Christmas.
