Dow Closes Above 19,000 for the First Time

iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — The post-election rally continues as the Dow closes above 19,000 for the first time in its history.

The Dow jumped 67.18 (+0.35 percent) to finish at 19,023.87, a record high.

The Nasdaq gained 17.49 (+0.33 percent) to close at 5,386.35, while the S&P 500 finished at 2,202.94, up 4.76 (+0.22 percent) from its open.

Crude oil fell about 1 percent with prices hitting over $47 a barrel.
