Fallen Tree Leaves Cedar Bluff Residents in the Dark Monday Night

Some residents in the area of County Road 906 in Cedar Bluff may have been in the dark for a short time Monday night – that was due to a tree that had fallen across a power line which in turn, caused the tree to catch fire.

According to the Cedar Bluff Fire Department they received the call and responded to find that a dead tree fell on top of another causing that tree to topple across the power line, and at that point Cherokee Electric Co-op crews were notified.

Once on the scene, Co-op workers had to cut power to the area and cut the limbs off of the power line so that firefighters could then cut down the tree eliminating any further hazard.

Power was restored to the area in less than an hour.
