Fan Suspected of Throwing Beer at Player Turns Himself in

Phil Ellsworth/ESPN(TORONTO) — A male fan who allegedly threw a beer at Orioles outfielder Hyun Soo Kim during the American League Wild Card Game has turned himself in.

41-year-old Ken Pagan was charged with mischief after reporting to authorities Thursday evening. Pagan has since been released and is scheduled to appear in court in late November.

ESPN reports Pagan contacted police after a picture of him was released on Wednesday.

Police spokeswoman Meaghan Gary says following the arrest, “We are confident we have made a positive ID, and we will continue to work with the Rogers Centre to further the investigation.”

Pagan suggests he may not be the man who threw the beer, saying he was drinking out of a cup. A can of beer was tossed into left field in the direction of the Orioles outfielder.

The Blue Jays have apologized to the Orioles and say the organization is working to tighten its security and alcohol policies.
