Fatal Accident On Highway 35 in Rainsville Thursday Afternoon / UPDATED

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report from the fatal accident taking place last Thursday in DeKalb County has now been released.

According to information contained in the report the two-vehicle crash occurred at 3:10pm in Rainsville, and involved a 2005 Buick, being driven by 67 year old Charles Ray Bramblett of Fyffe and a 2008 Chevrolet driven by 30 year old Ft Payne resident Cheryl Browder. Both Bramblett, and a passenger in the Chevrolet, 56 year old Patty Browder, a Henagar resident, were pronounced dead at the scene.  Cheryl Browder and the other passenger in her vehicle, a four year old child, were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.  No information has yet been released regarding their condition.

That wreck took place during the middle of Thursday’s rainstorm just after 3:00pm, and it’s believed that Bramblett’s vehicle may have hydroplaned, leading it to cross the median, and collide with Browder’s car which was traveling in the opposite direction.

The accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
