A Henagar home was destroyed by fire after being struck by lightning during severe storms early Wednesday morning.
According to DeKalb County Deputy EMA Director Michael Posey lightning struck the home on County Road 651 at around 9:00am; he said the family was home at the time of the blaze and although they lost their home, thankfully no one lost their life.
DeKalb County, like many other parts of the state, experienced heavy rains, high winds, and lightning strikes throughout the morning.
Some areas reported large hail and even what appeared to be tornadoes.
