78 Year Old Man Loses Everything in County Road 6 House Fire

A Cherokee County man has lost everything in a house fire.

The County Road 6 home of 78 year old Henry “Hank” Sharpton received significant damage on Tuesday evening, while he was elsewhere setting up for the Highway 411 Yard Sale taking place this week.

Mr. Sharpton told WEIS Radio News that although they may have been able to repair the home – at that point – a re-start during the early morning hours of Wednesday resulted in the home being a complete loss with it burning to the ground.

Both the Mt. Weisner and Ellisville fire departments were dispatched to the location, around 5:00 that morning – due to the re-start.

Mr. Sharpton, who was the sole occupant of the home, is in need of donations of everything from clothing to basic household items of all types.  Those wishing to offer any assistance may contact a family member at (256) 458-3287 OR you can stop by his yard sale site on Highway 411 south, just past Pine Cone Marina – through this Saturday (October 5th).
