Firefighters Respond To Multiple Campers On Fire On County Road 778 On Friday Morning

Units from the McCord’s, Spring Creek, and Cave Spring Fire Departments along with Floyd EMS units were dispatched to a reported structure fire at an address on County Road 778 in the Mud Creek area around 4:00 Friday morning. 
 
According to McCords Fire Chief Rich Lindsey, firefighters quickly arrived on the scene to find two campers fully involved, a boat and utility trailer on fire, and other structures and vehicles endangered.  
 
Chief Lindsey said that firefighters were able to get the blaze under control in about twenty minutes. Fortunately no one was injured in the mishap.
 
The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
