October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and First Responders in Piedmont showed their support Tuesday by facing the shears.
Shannon Hogue, an EMT with the Piedmont Rescue Squad, who organiszd the event.
Violet Hairrell, whose husband serves on the Resue Squad Board, is a 20-year cancer survivor.
Of course, there was much more to Tuesday’s event than cutting hair as Hogue presented a check for 5-thousand dollars to Venicia Butler’s Foundation.
Butler is a four-time cancer survivor who formed Venecia’s Foundation, which provides aid, support and comfort to cancer patients and their families.
The money raised by the foundation goes to purchase care packages for patients undergoing chemotherapy.
