Five-Vehicle Wreck on the Causeway Between Centre and Cedar Bluff / UPDATED

Apparently, no good deed goes unpunished.

According to an eyewitness, someone was attempting to remove a board from the middle of the road near the state docks on the causeway between Centre and Cedar Bluff – when that attempt at doing the right thing led to a five vehicle accident, just prior to 10:00 Wednesday morning.

When that first vehicle stopped to avoid the Good Samaritan the car behind it failed to stop, and so did the next car and the same went for two pickup trucks.

Fortunately, it appeared no one was hurt in the mishap.

It’s unclear at this time if anyone will be cited in connection with that incident; according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report those drivers involved included a 17 year old male from Gaylesville, a 77 year old Leesburg man, a 60 year old female resident of Rome, Georgia, a 56 year old Centre woman and a 70 year old Leesburg man.
