Florida Woman Dies in Etowah County Wreck on Sunday

A two-vehicle crash occurring on Sunday morning in Etowah County has claimed the life of a Florida woman and left three other people injured.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report the collision took place at 9:50am on Highway 278, approximately five miles west of Attalla.

75 year old Belvia Joan King was fatally injured, when the 2008 GMC Acadia she was riding in crashed into a 2010 Nissan being driven by 31 year old Andrew Kidd of Jackson, Georgia.

The driver of the GMC, 75 year old Jacksonville, Florida resident Ronald Lowder, along with his wife, Patricia, were taken to Gadsden Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Kidd was also transported to the same facility.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
