Floyd County Authorities Searching For Suspect In Fosters Mill Shooting

Update at 11:35 p.m.: A “BOLO” has been issued in Cherokee County for Dewayne Tanner in connection with a shooting on Foster’s Mill Road in Floyd County.
Tanner is a while male with red hair and blue eyes. He is 5’9″ and 160 pounds. He is in his late 40’s and is considered armed and dangerous.
Tanner is also believed to be driving a midnight blue 2009 model Lexus.
Updated at 10:23 p.m.: Police are still searching for the shooter and have said he may be driving a black or brown Lexus.
Also, police are discussing bringing in a helicopter from the Georgia State Patrol to assist them in their search for the shooting suspect, who’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
Update at 9:21 p.m.: The coroner has arrived on the scene of the shooting. Early reports indicated one dead, one injured. Again, please avoid the area on Fosters Mill Road as traffic is already backing up.
Previously posted: Police are closing off roads near the scene at 1560 Fosters Mill Road up to at least a half mile. Avoid the area as there are a lot of police and EMS in the area.
Traffic is backed up according to our reporter on the scene on Ga. 100 past Morton Bend Road from Ga. 20.
 At least two people were shot. Since this is an active ongoing situation, it may be some time before police are able to give updates.
