Floyd County Man Sentenced to 20 Years without Parole in Assault Case

Wal-Mart Man53 year old Paul Stephen Gossett of was sentenced on Monday, to a prison term of 20 years without parole, in connection with an assault occurring at the West Rome Wal-Mart earlier in the year.

Gossett was found guilty of two counts of aggravated assault which took place during what was a robbery attempt in the parking lot of the store back on March 16th.

The victim was able to put a buggy between himself and Gossett – and that’s when Gossett began swinging a knife, managing to cut the victim on the finger before fleeing the scene.

Gossett also faces trial in regard to another incident in which he allegedly attempted to rob a woman outside of Sam’s Club just days later.
