Floyd County Woman Dies From Injuries Sustained in Wreck

Armuchee AccidentAn elderly Floyd County woman has died, as the result of injuries sustained in an accident which took place last Sunday.

According to officers, 55 year old Jackie Johnson of South Carolina will face a charge of Second Degree Vehicular Homicide.

Johnson was driving a tractor trailer southbound when the accident occurred.

According to the Georgia State Patrol report the truck turned into the path of 74 year old Barbara Fowler’s Mercury at the intersection of Georgia 140 and Martha Berry Highway.

She was taken to Floyd Medical Center, where she later died.

Following the wreck, Johnson was charged with failing to yield while turning left.
