Fort Payne Man Arrested On Drug Charges

On Thursday, DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit and Fort Payne Police went to Deerfield Apartments in Fort Payne, AL to serve a felony arrest warrant. Agents went to the apartment but no one was at home. Agents knocked on nearby apartment doors to ask neighbors if they had seen anyone living in the Apartment.

While speaking to a neighbor at a nearby Apartment, Agents detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the Apartment. Agents obtained a search warrant and found a large amount of Marijuana, drug paraphernalia and money. 

Demarcus Lorenzo Warren, of Fort Payne, Al was arrested and charged with Unlawful possession of marijuana first degree and Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Warren was transported to the Fort Payne City jail.

Chief Deputy Michael Edmondson says “the DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Unit and Fort Payne Police did a great job on being aware of their surroundings and to make this arrest possible.”
