According to Fort Payne Police Chief Randy Bynum – his department received a 911 call at 8:30 Saturday morning reporting an Assault that occurred Friday night at a trailer park located at 2219 Gault Avenue South.

Officer’s originally talked with an individual who they thought to be the victim.

They then went to another mobile home were they found the body of a deceased individual lying on a couch.

A person of interest has been detained for questioning and charges are pending through the District Attorney’s office as of Saturday.

The manner and cause of death has not been determined at this time. The body of the victim has been taken to The Huntsville Department of Forensic Science to determine a cause of death.

At this time the name of the victim and suspect are not being released pending the notification of family.

Further details on the investigation will be released Sunday as more information is known.
