Four Arrested on Drug Charges Following Routine Traffic Stops

Three people were arrested on drug charges following a routine traffic stop in DeKalb County.

Sheriff’s Office Deputies were granted permission to search the vehicle and that search turned up both drug paraphernalia and a gun, and it was soon determined that no one inside the vehicle had a pistol permit.

The driver of the vehicle, 52 year old Carlton Ray Liles of Ft Payne – was arrested on charges of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Carrying a Concealed Weapon without a Permit.

William Timothy Busby, age 61, also from Ft Payne, was arrested for a felony warrant for drugs, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

21 year old Mikkie Rae Wells of Rainsville was placed under arrest for a warrant for Theft – and charges of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

All three were transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center – where they remain awaiting setting of bond.

During an unrelated traffic stop on County Road 632 in Mentone – 20 year old Ft Payne resident, Rickey Shannon Robinson, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; while conducting a consent search of the vehicle, Drug Task Force members found drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

Robinson was also transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center.
