A 51 year old Kentucky man has been arrested in DeKalb County on a Fugitive from Justice Warrant obtained by Ft Payne Investigators.

Shortly after his arrest local law enforcement learned that Donald James Ibenthal, who was found living in north Ft Payne, was wanted in Kentucky for a parole violation that stemmed from multiple sexual offenses against minors along with robbery, burglary, receiving stolen property and escape.

He was additionally charged by Ft Payne Investigators with two counts of Violation of Sex Offender Registration & Community Notification Act guidelines, for his failure to register as a sex offender in Alabama.

Ibenthal was also charged with setting up residence within 2,000 feet of a school.

He remains in the DeKalb County Detention Center on bond of $150,000.

After making bond locally, he will be extradited back to Kentucky to face charges there.
