Gadsden Couple Arrested On Charges Of Aggravated Animal Cruelty In Connection To Case Involving Horses On County Road 32

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, two individuals are in custody as part of a joint investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Office, Animal Control, and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) regarding an animal cruelty case involving horses on County Road 32.

An ALEA investigator assigned to agriculture crimes obtained warrants on Friday, July 7, 2017, and the two suspects were arrested by Cherokee County Sheriff’s investigators later in the day.

Leon Junior Green, 59, and Latoya Diane Green, 33, both of Gadsden are charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.The couple has been booked in at the Cherokee County Detention Center, where they await a bond hearing.
