Gadsden Man Arrested on Burglary and Theft Charges

A 52 year old Gadsden man was apparently caught in the act, while trying to steal items from the home of a Ridgeville resident on Wednesday afternoon.  According to information contained in a news release from Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin; the homeowner arrived as Robin Gene Bishop was allegedly in the process of loading the stolen items into a truck.

The homeowner dialed 9-1-1 and Deputies Victor Payne and Dwight Fuller quickly arrived at the scene – taking Bishop into custody; a second suspect managed to get away.

Bishop was charged with Theft of Property 1st Degree and Burglary 3rd Degree – both felonies.

He is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center with bond set at $7,500.

The search for the second suspect continues.
