Gadsden Man Caught with 37 Grams of Heroin

Davis 3An Etowah County man has been arrested in connection with an investigation into heroin distribution networks in the area. Rahiem Jamal Davis, age 32 from Gadsden, was arrested during a traffic stop on Forrest Avenue based on a moving traffic violation. Agents with the Etowah County Drug Task Force, Gadsden Police Department, and the North Alabama Safe Streets Task Force took part in the arrest.

During the stop, agents seized approximately 37 grams of heroin, along with a handgun and $6,930 in cash.

The heroin has an approximately street value of $22,000.

Davis was charged with Heroin Trafficking, Marijuana Possession and Carrying a Concealed Pistol without a Permit.

He is currently being held on $26,500 bond in the Etowah County Detention Center.
