Some people would consider it akin to breaking into jail – and in a way, it was.
Two Gadsden men are behind bars after being charged with a burglary at West End Elementary School in Etowah County.
26 year old Tony James Morgan and Robbie Lee Tucker, age 37 – have each been charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft of Property 1st Degree in connection with the May 8th break-in.
Sheriff Todd Entrekin said the pair allegedly broke into the school and took around $5,000 worth of electronic equipment including a dozen digital cameras causing some $3,000 in damage to the facility in the process.
Two of the stolen cameras, a Kindle Fire HD and an iPad power cord were recovered in addition to a projector taken from Susan Moore High.
Tucker was also found to be in possession of an air-conditioner stolen from the Carnes Chapel Church in April; he was additionally charged with Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree for the offense.
