Gadsden Police Investigate Robbery

Gadsden Police are investigating a reported armed robbery.

On May 31st, at approximately 12:15 am, a 30-year old woman told police she was robbed at gunpoint near the intersection of North 12th Street and Gardner Street.

The woman said she was stopped in traffic at a stop sign when a man approached the driver’s side door and asked for a dollar.

When she told him she didn’t have anything for him a second man opened her passenger side door, put a handgun to her head and stole $600 cash, her cell phone and purse before fleeing towards Tuscaloosa Avenue.

The woman said she and her husband spotted one of the suspects inside the Grub Mart, Located at 1101 West Meighan Boulevard, a short time later and attempted to subdue him but he got away.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 29 to 39 years of age, 6 foot tall, weighing 200 pounds.

The second suspect is a black male, 17 to 20 years old, 5 foot 7 inches and weighing around 140 pounds.
