Gadsden Public Library Receives An Unexpected Guest

possum2According to al.com The Gadsden Public Library had an unexpected visitor in its courtyard Friday morning- an opossum hiding in the bushes.
Gadsden Animal Control was called to remove the animal from the garden, which is enclosed behind a gate and allows readers to enjoy a read in the shade.

The opossum, which was about two feet long, peeked out about mid-morning and was spotted by a few employees.
Though no one knew for sure, they guessed the opossum came in under one of the gates.

After a few attempts to get away from curious onlookers – and people snapping pictures with their phones – three animal control workers arrived to carry the animal away and release it in the wild.

There was no word on whether the opossum wanted something to read on the trip.
