Gadsden Woman Uses Meth While Pregnant; Newborn Tests Positive for Drugs

A 23 year old Gadsden woman was arrested, and charged with the Chemical Endangerment of a Child after admitting to using methamphetamine throughout her pregnancy.

At the time of delivery, Felicia Megan Hansard’s baby tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.

Hansard is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond.

As a condition of that bond, she will be required to complete a drug treatment program and will be monitored by Etowah County Community Corrections.

Etowah County DHR is also involved in the case.
