A Gadsden woman is behind bars in Cherokee County, after being caught on surveillance camera stealing a tip jar containing between $80 and $100 – from the Wise Guys Pizza Restaurant.

Officer Jeff Bryant with the Centre Police Department viewed surveillance footage taken during the incident and began following up on several leads.

While parked at a gas station in Centre, going through a list of registered vehicles which matched the description of the suspect’s vehicle, a bit of luck came into play when Officer Bryant saw the suspect drive by in her black Pontiac Grand Am! Officer Bryant quickly apprehended the woman – identified as 46 year old Lisa Pritchett Sturgis, of Gadsden – and placed her under arrest on a charge of Theft of Property 3rd Degree.

She was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center shortly before 3:00pm Sunday, with bond set at $300.
