A single-vehicle accident, late Wednesday afternoon in Etowah County, claimed the life of a Gadsden woman.
County Coroner Michael Head says the wreck took place around 5:00pm in the 500 block of Scenic Drive. According to reports a Ford Ranger Sport left the roadway, and crashed into a tree, fatally injuring a passenger in the vehicle identified as 42 year old Apryl Foster Jacobs; the driver, whose name has not yet been released, was carried to Gadsden Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of that accident remains under investigation.
