Gaylesville Man Arrested After Attempting Eluding Officers

A Gaylesville man has been arrested after he attempted to elude deputies on Wednesday morning.

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, Deputy Dustin Huggins spotted a vehicle reportedly taken from a residence without permission and attempted to make a traffic stop when the driver fled.

The suspect abandoned the vehicle on County Road 597 and ran behind a residence, where he was apprehended by Deputy Huggins.

37 year old Elvis Pietri was arrested on charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle and attempting to elude a police officer.
