Georgia Man, Alabama Woman Arrested in Drug Bust

Approximately four pounds of pot and just over $15,000 in cash, was seized during a Friday drug bust taking place just a few miles away in neighboring Chattooga County, Georgia.

Sheriff Mark Schrader stated that a search warrant was executed, at a location on Taliaferro Springs Road just outside of Lyerly, which resulted in the discovery of about four pounds of varying grades of marijuana along with that cash.  Scales and packaging materials were also seized.

Two people were placed under arrest at the scene:  Charles Owen Lang, age 57 of Taliaferro Springs Road and Deborah Weaver age 57 of Bear Creek, Alabama.  Both have been charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, and with the Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute – both felonies.

The investigation into the matter is on-going.
