State Senator Gerald Dial (R-Lineville) recently received the endorsement of the Alabama State Trooper Association. Comprised of current and retired sworn officers and Alabama Department of Public Safety employees, the association has over 1,000 members. In addition to the endorsement, the group presented Senator Dial with the Alabama State Trooper Association Senator of the Year award.

“Being recognized and endorsed by over 1,000 men and women who dedicate their lives to the safety of our citizens is a tremendous honor,” said Senator Dial. “I support those men and women because it’s the right thing to do, and because I have so much respect for them. It’s very humbling to receive this award and endorsement.”

“I grew up in Senator Dial’s district, so I have seen first-hand how strongly he supports not only our members, but also the citizens of District 13,” said Alabama State Trooper Association Executive Director Danny Hester.

“It was an easy decision to endorse Sen. Dial’s re-election effort. He has long been a champion for our members, and we look forward to him continuing his great work in the Alabama Senate,” stated David W. Steward, Association President.

Gerald Dial represents District 13 in the Alabama State Senate, which includes all or parts of Chambers, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, Lee, and Randolph Counties. In 2011, Senator Dial was appointed Majority Whip by the Senate Majority Leader Jabo Waggoner. Gerald is recognized for his parliamentary knowledge and command of the Senate rules of procedure.  His abilities have resulted in more roads projects, new businesses and opportunities for East Alabama than comparable freshmen legislators. Dial is Chairman of the Senate Local Legislation #1 Committee. Senator Dial and his wife, Faye, live in Lineville.

The Alabama State Trooper Association is comprised of over 1,000 current and retired sworn officers and employees of the Alabama Department of Public Safety.
