Well, you have to give the guy credit for thinkin’ outside the box, that’s for sure.
Gadsden Police have since recovered a cash register that was stolen through the drive thru window of the Pizza Hut on East Meighen Boulevard on Monday evening just before 6:30.
According to the incident report a man described as a heavy set white male wearing a blue ski mask and a blue, puffy jacket came through the drive thru, and he attempted to grab the register through the window.
Even though the cash register was attached to a computer the man still managed to wrench it free – he then fled the scene.
A store employee called 9-1-1, and officers did eventually locate the empty register behind a bus on the property of the East Gadsden Baptist Church.
The culprit however, was nowhere to be found.
The investigation into the matter is on-going.
