44 year old Brad Bell of Centre, former Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office employee and Hays Prison Corrections Officer, passed away Monday, November 7th (2016) following a massive heart attack; unfortunately his life insurance only paid under an “on the job” or “accidental” classification.
Bell leaves behind a wife and seven children.
Funds are being raised to help offset funeral expenses and to help provide for the family.

Dennis Bradley Bell, 44 of Leesburg, passed away Monday, November 7th at his residence.
Graveside services will be 2:30P.M. Friday, November 11th at Shepard Cemetery, with Rev. Daniel McGatha and Bishop Daryl Gooden officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Kendal Bell, Zachary Bell, Austin Hulsey, Anthony Hulsey, Matthew Littlejohn, Mike Gable, Matthew Bell and Brent Taylor.
Brad leaves behind his loving wife of 17 years Katherine Anne Shad Bell, along with his seven children; sons Dennis B. Bell Jr. of Centre, Zachary Bell, Anthony Hulsey, Austin Hulsey all of Leesburg; daughters, Sarah(Matthew) Hunkapiller of Calhoun, Ga., Brianna Bell, Madison Bell all of Leesburg; one granddaughter, Emma Hulsey of Calhoun, GA.
Brad was extremely loving of his wife, all of his children and his newest and first born granddaughter “Pappa’s heart”. The accomplishments and achievements of his children and family as a whole were a great source of joy and pride, his absence will be forever felt.
Brad began his love of law enforcement as a Corrections Officer at Cherokee County Detention Center where he was an active member of the CERT Team. He went on to become a Cherokee County Deputy and most recently was a member of the Hays Prison Family in Trion, GA as a Corrections Officer. He shared his love of law enforcement with all those he knew and loved.
Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Harrison and Helen Key, paternal grandparents Ruby and Harvey Bell, and beloved cousin Caleb Key. He is also survived by his parents David and Cindy Taylor of Centre, Dennis and Sharon Bell of Tallapoosa, GA; brothers Brent (Kristen) Taylor of Cedar Bluff, and Matthew Bell of Tallapoosa, GA; several nieces and nephews.
