iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Ken Bone was the unexpected breakout star of the second presidential debate of the 2016 election and now a costume elaborating on Bone’s distinctive red Izod sweater has become the breakout star of this Halloween.
Bone, a 34-year-old who works for a coal-fired plant in Southern Illinois, wore the red sweater as an undecided voter in the audience at the Oct. 9 debate at Washington University in St. Louis. He stood out when he asked Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump a question on energy policy.
Clothing retailer Yandy.com quickly acted on Bone’s unexpected fame by creating a “Sexy Undecided Voter Costume” that is already out of stock on its website less than one week after the debate.
The $99.95 costume for women features a much lower-cut and crop-top version of Bone’s red sweater with a white collared shirt underneath, along with black pants, a fake microphone and black glasses and a black stick-on mustache to match Bone’s look.
Yandy.com writes on its website the undecided voter is “the most lovable political enthusiast of the 2016 election season!”
The Arizona-based company did not reply to ABC News’ request for comment as of this writing.
The real version of Bone’s red Izod sweater was also popular on Amazon, where every size from small to extra large was sold out by Monday afternoon.
Izod also tweeted about the undecided voter’s choice of attire.

Bone told the Belleville News-Democrat Wednesday that he plans to auction the sweater and donate the proceeds toward voter registration efforts and fighting homelessness. Further details of the auction have not yet been confirmed, according to the Belleville, Illinois, newspaper.
