Thumbnail for 162831The Sand Rock boys and Collinsville boy and girls varsity basketball teams will participate in the Asbury high school Christmas basketball tournament beginning Saturday, December 27th and concluding on Tuesday, December 30th.

Saturday, December 27th

9:00 – Girls – J.B. Pennington vs. Plainview

10:30 – Boys – Sand Rock vs. J.B. Pennington

12:00 – Girls – Collinsville vs. Brindlee Mountain

1:30 – Boys – Plainview vs. Collinsville.

3:00 – Girls – Susan Moore vs. Douglas

4:30 – Boys – New Hope vs. Section

6:00 – Girls – Geraldine vs. Asbury.

7:30 – Boys – Susan Moore vs. Asbury

 

Monday, December 29th

9:00 – Girls – Pennington-Plainview loser vs. Collinsville-Brindlee loser

10:30 – Boys – Sand Rock-Pennington loser vs. Plainview-Collinsville loser

12:00 – Girls – Susan Moore-Douglas loser vs. Geraldine-Asbury loser

1:30 – Boys – New Hope-Section loser vs. Susan Moore-Asbury loser

3:00 – Girls – Pennington-Plainview winner vs. Collinsville-Brindlee winner

4:30 – Boys – Sand Rock-Pennington winner vs. Plainview-Collinsville winner

6:00 – Girls – Susan Moore-Douglas winner vs. Geraldine-Asbury winner.

7:30 – Boys – New Hope-Section winner vs. Susan Moore-Asbury winner.

 

Tuesday, December, 30th

9:00 – 7th place girls game

10:30 – 7th place boys game.

12:00 – Girls Consolation championship

1:30 – Boys Consolation championship

3:00 – 3rd place Girls game

4:30 – 3rd place Boys game

6:00 – Championship Girls game

7:30 – Championship Boys game

 

The 3A, No. 5 Sand Rock girl’s basketball team will be in Grant, Al on December 29th and 30th for the DAR, Kate D. Smith High School Lady Patriot Classic.  The deep field includes two other ranked teams in 5A, No. 10 Madison County and 4A, No. 4 Jacksonville.  Rounding out the select squads are teams from 5A Ardmore, 5A Helena, , 5A Boaz, and 5A J.O. Johnson.  Games will be played at the Burkey Center on the campus of DAR.  The Lady Cats open play on Monday at noon against Boaz.  A win moves them into a Monday night semi-final against either J.O. Johnson or Jacksonville at 7:30.  A loss would mean a 4:30 p.m. start against the loser. Consolation and championship games will conclude play on Tuesday.
