Hold Up Attempt Goes South for One Would Be Robber in Rome

A hold-up attempt went way off-course for one would-be robber, when a convenience store clerk grabbed the gunman’s weapon.

The incident took place at Rick’s Food Mart located on the Kingston Highway in Rome early Tuesday morning, when a white male wearing a black hoodie and red bandana, entered the store armed with a rifle and pointed it at the clerk, demanding money however the man got close enough that the clerk was able to get his hands on the barrel of the gun.

The suspect managed to grab the gun back from the store employee during a brief struggle, and at that point fled the store.

Officers say no money was taken and fortunately, no one was injured.
