Rome City Police arrested a homeless man on Saturday – after he allegedly forced his way into a hotel room and sexually assaulted a young girl.
According to Floyd County Jail records, 48 year old Kenneth Barnard Chambers, entered a room at the Royal Inn on the Martha Berry Highway allegedly with the intent to sexually assault the 14 year old victim who was residing there.
Police reports claim Chambers then touched the girl inappropriately without her consent.
He was arrested around noon Saturday, and faces charges of 1st Degree Burglary, Sexual Battery and Child molestation.
