Firefighters and police responded to a report of a house fire, just off Highway 68 on Cross Street, next to the pawn shop in Cedar Bluff – at around 10:30 Monday night.
Units with the Cedar Bluff, Centre and Gaylesville Fire Departments soon brought that fire under control, containing it to the porch area of the home; firefighters returned to the home shortly after 2:30 Tuesday morning due to a re-start.
No one was hurt during the fire and it’s unclear if anyone had actually been living in the home in the recent past.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
