According to the information contained in a news release from Ft Payne Police Chief Randy Bynum, a Ft Payne man has been charged with the murder of his wife as the result of an on-going domestic dispute.

The victim, 25 year old Ashley Lynn Scott had been a full-time EMT with DeKalb Ambulance and her husband, 27 year old Gregory Scott had worked for the ambulance service as a part -time EMT since February of this year (2016).

Around 4:30am Monday, Ft Payne Police responded to an apartment in the 700 block of 9th Street Southeast, in order to conduct welfare check on a female resident.  Upon entering the residence, they discovered the lifeless body of Ashley Lynn Scott; her husband Gregory, was soon named as a “person of interest” and subsequently charged with Murder.

He is currently being held without bond.
