Injured Motorcyclist Remains in Critical Condition at Erlanger

Additional information has now been released regarding the hit and run incident occurring Sunday evening in Floyd County.

Ronnie Thomas Tutton, Jr., age 31, was taken into custody and charged with – DUI, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Driving with a Suspended License.

A motorcyclist was sitting at the intersection of Rockmart Road and Shiflett Road when the bike was hit by Tutton’s Ford Ranger, literally snapping the bike in half; the impact sent the motorcyclist down a thirty foot embankment, causing serious injuries to the driver.

CammerThe victim, identified as Terrin Layne Cammer was transported to Erlanger Medical Center for treatment. He reportedly remains in critical condition.

Tutton, a native of Dallas, Georgia, fled the scene following the crash. He attempted to hide his truck behind a nearby church and from there fled on foot; afterwards he knocked on the door of a nearby home, asking to be taken to the Silver Creek Mini-Mart.

Law enforcement soon located Tutton and placed him under arrest.
