Iva Lee Watson, age 87 of Collinsville (Black Creek Community), went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 12th at her residence.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Wednesday, August 16th at Black Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Beshears and Rev. Doug Turner officiating; burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include: Kevin Watson, Eric Watson, T.J. Watson, Randy Wedgworth, Steve Blackwell, Rob Burt, Melody Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons and Church family.
Survivors include sons, Harold (Martha) Watson of Black Creek, Wayne (Cookie) Watson of Gadsden, Tim (Debbie) Watson of Hendersonville, TN; son-in-law, Randy Wedgworth; sister, Sharon Ann Burt of Black Creek; grandchildren, Kevin Watson, Eric (Mirandi) Watson, Randy (Jennifer) Wedgworth, Melody Watson, T.J. Watson, Marlon Nance, Jason Wedgworth; great grandchildren, Jake Wedgworth, Hunter Watson, Jack Noah Watson, Christian Wedgworth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Jack H. Watson; daughter, Joan Wedgworth; brother, Gary Blackwell; sister-in-law, Gayle Blackwell and sister-in-law, Hazel Denson.
Mrs. Watson was born April 15, 1930, the daughter of the late Herman George and Ruby Estelle Murphy Blackwell. She was a graduate of Etowah High School, class of 1948 and was retired from American Apparel. She has been a faithful member of the Black Creek Baptist Church since 1945. She loved her flowers and her yard and she loved her church family and spent most of her life in the Black Creek community where she grew up….where each person was dear to her and a special thank you to each one of you for your kindness during her illness. A special thanks to Dr. Dwight Harper, special caretaker, Corolle Powell and all others who have been caretakers. She and was a retired seamstress at American Apparel.
